Frequently Asked Questions 


1. Is my event date available? 

We book up very quickly and require at least one full week for any of our custom cakes.

Please call the bakery at 407.830.9006 or send us an email to info@bakemeacake.net to see if your event date is available. We only accept a limited amount of cakes each week so dates fill up quickly. 


 2. How much are your cakes and cupcakes?  

Our cakes are priced per serving and vary by complexity and design. Our pricing for custom cakes begin at $5.50 per serving but intricate details, shaping, carving and handmade sugar flowers can significantly increase the cost.  

We are happy to work within your event budget and encourage you to contact us for an appointment so that we can discuss your cake order in person. We feel meeting with someone face-to-face and getting to know your ideas is the best way to plan a spectacular cake. Please note all quotes are provided either in person/email. We do not give quotes over the phone for our custom cakes. 

Our cupcakes are priced by size and by amount of decoration. We offer two sizes of cupcakes. Our mini cupcakes are 2.5 bite sized cupcakes that start at $1.50 each depending on complexity of decoration. Our classic cupcakes are a little larger than a standard sized cupcake and start at $3.00 each and also vary by complexity of decoration. 


3. What are your flavors and fillings?      

We have a wonderful list of flavors and fillings to choose from for your cake/cupcakes. Please know that some of these flavors/fillings may be seasonal. 


4. Do you make buttercream iced cakes?      

Our bakery specializes in fondant iced cakes and do not do traditional buttercream decorated cakes. However, every decorated cake is iced with a layer of buttercream and later decorated with a thin layer of fondant. Fondant gives the cake that clean satin look, keeps the cake moist and performs well with our Florida summer. Many clients are surprised how good our fondant really tastes when they come in for a tasting. 


5. How should I care for my cake ?  

Our cakes are either too large or too fragile to place in a normal cake box. We will do our very best to box your cake when you come for pick up. It is a good idea to have a flat and open surface in your vehicle away from any loose objects to avoid accidents.

Our cakes do not require refrigeration because of fondant. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions regarding cake handling and care.  


6. Do you deliver?            

Delivery is available for wedding cakes and cakes that require on site setup. Delivery fees are calculated by the distance of the event and setup time needed.


7. Do you make gluten free cakes?     

We do not make any gluten free cakes.


8. What is your bakery payment/cancellation policy? 

A 50 percent non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your cake order. The remaining balance is due two weeks before the event date or time of pickup.

There is no payment refund for cancellation at any time. Once your date is held, all business is turned away and because we only take a limited amount of cakes dates sell out quickly.

Cancellation at any time will result in forfeiture of initial deposit and any following payments.


9. Do you make fake/foam layers for cakes?  

Some customers have asked if we could use Styrofoam as opposed to cake to “pump up” the height of their cake. We typically can but you will still be charged the same serving size based on the dimensions of the size of the cake. Why? It is the same amount of work, time, and detail whether it is cake or Styrofoam.


10. What is your cake/cupcake stand policy?

We allow the use of our wonderful stands to make your cupcakes and cake stand out at your event. If you would like to use one of our stands please let us know as soon as possible as we only have a limited amount of stands.

We require a $150 check to hold that is returned to you as soon as it is brought back in the same condition it was delivered within one week of your event. You are responsible for returning the stand(s) to our bakery within 3 business days of your event date in the same condition it was delivered to avoid additional fees.


11. Do you ship cakes or cupcakes?  

We are unable to ship cakes or cupcakes at this time. Please contact us if you have any questions. 


12. Who took the sweet photos on the website ?  

We are lucky to work with some of the top vendors in the wedding industry. Most of the photos used on our website are from our photographer friend Jack Edwards. 

Jack Edwards is a wonderful photographer/videographer and is also responsible for taking the shots in Mercedes best selling book, Satin Ice Sugar Craft. You can see more of his work at www.flweddingevents.com

13. Do you offer cake decorating classes ?  

Our bakery offers a wide assortment of cake decorating classes. Our full Class List is available in the Classes Tab on the website. They are planned by season and is always posted in our social media pages. We also have many classes available on our Facebook page. Make sure to Follow Us for up to date classes.
